Teen Driver Safety Begins With You
Part of our mission at Open Road Driving Academy is to prepare our students with the knowledge and confidence it takes to be safe, responsible drivers. Teen driver safety, in particular, relies on parents/guardians understanding the added risks that first-time, teenage drivers face. Most teenagers overestimate their ability and underestimate the dangers involved with driving due to their age and inexperience. Therefore, we believe that it is crucial for parents/guardians to talk with their teens and discuss with them the risks of driving.
We developed the following infographic based on recent driver safety statistics provided by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. We urge you to share this information with your teen driver and to discuss ways in which the risks of driving can be mitigated. Teen driver safety begins at home with you! Together we can help develop a sense of responsibility in our young drivers and, as a result, help ensure a safe and fun driving experience for years to come.
